Wow, only 1.43 million viewers tuned in to bid farewell to “The Late Late Show with James Corden” on its series finale. But hey, that’s still a whopping 77% increase from the show’s usual viewership. The last episode was filled with tear-jerking goodbyes from Corden to his past guests, including Tom Cruise and Adele. And let’s not forget the thrilling 10pm primetime special, “THE Last Last Late Late Show with James Corden Carpool Karaoke,” which brought in a whopping 3.65 million viewers – 32% more than the previous Carpool Karaoke special from May 2019. Corden started off the show with a “Last Show” song and dance, and was later joined by guests Harry Styles and Will Ferrell who played the game “Spill Your Guts or Fill Your Guts” and managed to destroy Corden’s desk in the process. The episode also included a sketch with other late night hosts Seth Meyers, Jimmy Kimmel, Jimmy Fallon, and Stephen Colbert, who popped up in Corden’s bedroom to warn him not to leave without passing on his show bits. David Letterman and Trevor Noah also appeared in the sketch. Overall, the finale and primetime special earned a combined 932 million potential social impressions and over 96 thousand mentions. And while the show’s final week garnered 35.5 million video views, the “Adele – The Final Carpool Karaoke” posted on YouTube has 13.1 million views – a true testament to the popularity of Corden’s carpool shenanigans. submitted by /u/Initial_Rub5533 |
