Michael Jordan certainly has a claim to be considered the greatest sportsperson of all time, having enjoyed an illustrious NBA career while also playing baseball to a good standard.
Of course, he also takes his golf incredibly seriously.
Jordan plays golf off a handicap in the low single figures. He also owns the golf course Grove XXIII, which is an incredibly exclusive club.
When Brooks Koepka decided to mock Michael Jordan on the golf course
The 62-year-old is often seen at the Ryder Cup, trying to help Team USA rise to the occasion.
He is the ultimate competitor – as Brooks Koepka once found out when he played a match with the basketball icon.
As Koepka told SportsCenter in 2020 (via Golf Digest), he thought that he was on the verge of beating Jordan – and made the mistake of letting him know.

“I was one up going to 17 tee,” Koepka said. “We’d been jawing all day and we have like a 40-yard walk back to the 17th tee and he hasn’t said much the last couple of holes. I said something like, ‘I’ve got you right where I want you.’”
“He just tees the ball up, takes his practice swing and looks at me. ‘It’s the fourth quarter, baby, I don’t lose,’” he added.
As it turns out, Jordan went on to win both of the final two holes to snatch victory from the jaws of defeat.
Grove XXIII is certainly not like most golf courses
It appears that Grove XXIII may be one of the most secretive golf clubs in the country. Unsurprisingly, it seems to provide an experience like nothing else.
As reported by Golf Digest in 2021, the golf carts can reach speeds of 35 mph. Meanwhile, food and drink are delivered by a drone.
It is no wonder that some of the world’s best players often tee it up at the venue.
But you would imagine that most would be wise enough to not try and wind up Jordan.
While his greatness is in absolutely no doubt, perhaps it would be fair to say that his top gear was often reserved for the moments when he had someone to shut up.
