It might not be long before Ferrari driver Lewis Hamilton has to start thinking about what he’s going to do next after Formula 1.
Lewis Hamilton had a difficult first season with Ferrari in 2025, going through the entire campaign without finishing on the podium.
A win in the Sprint Race in China proved to be the highlight of his campaign, as he finished 86 points behind teammate Charles Leclerc.
The 2026 F1 season will provide Hamilton with a fresh slate as Ferrari hope to win their first championship since 2008.
However, if Hamilton is once again unable to challenge for the title, then he might decide to hang up his racing gloves for good and pursue his other hobbies.
One of those might be acting, and his friend and Hollywood megastar, Tom Cruise, previously commented on whether Hamilton has what it takes to make it in front of the camera.

Tom Cruise thinks Lewis Hamilton can ‘accomplish anything’ when asked about his future acting career
During an interview with Channel 4 in 2023, while doing a promotion tour for Top Gun: Maverick, Cruise was speaking about the seven-time F1 world champion.
Hamilton reportedly turned down a role in that movie to concentrate on F1, and Cruise explained: “You’re asking about Lewis in terms of acting.
“I was like, that’s something, I think that anyone with that kind of focus and passion and wants to act, and I know he’s a musician and stuff, and he’s interested in that, he can accomplish anything.
“You know, you guys know that if you focus your mind on something, you can accomplish anything.”
In the build-up to the start of the 2025 Formula 1 season, Hamilton posted a recreation of Ferris Bueller’s Day Off on Instagram that he had acted in.
It used original footage from the movie alongside Hamilton acting and driving the Ferrari 250 GT California Spyder, his favourite ever car.
What Lewis Hamilton has previously said about becoming an actor after F1
In an interview in 2021 with DAZN F1, via Planet F1, Hamilton was asked about a future in acting.
He said: “I would like to act one day. I want to be the best in everything I do. I want to be the best, to do the best I can.
“So, if I’m going to do a film, I’ll go to classes, I’ll study and make sure I express the emotions like I should.
“I don’t have the time right now, so I guess it’s something I’ll do when I retire.”
Hamilton and Ferrari will hope that he’s not living out his acting dreams any time soon with a new Formula 1 season on the horizon.
The 41-year-old will have aspirations to go into many different areas once he finally retires, but it would be amazing to see him acting alongside Cruise in an action movie one day.
