Ray-J Thinks He Wasn’t Invited to Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs’ Parties Because He’s ‘Ugly’

Sean “Diddy” Combs has few celebrity defenders, but Ray-J has made several comments in his defense. He possibly feels comfortable having his name in connection with Combs because he claims he never went to any of his now-notorious parties. Ray-J shared his theory as to why he never nabbed an invite to Combs “freak-offs.”

For nearly 30 years, Combs hosted parties for rich and famous guests at his homes. While they were once hot ticket events, they fell under scrutiny after his arrest in 2024. Some attendees made allegations of sexual abuse and misconduct against Combs.

The parties were a veritable who’s who of Hollywood elite, but Ray-J said he never managed to score an invite. While reflecting on the fact that a woman he knew in childhood didn’t recognize him, Ray-J wondered if this was because he was attractive. He thought this could also be why Combs never invited him to his parties.

“Just like when they keep talking about the freakoffs with Diddy, I’m like yo (I) ain’t ever got invited to the ‘Freak-Offs, and that’s when it hit me, I’m ugly,” he said on a livestream, per Complex. “It hit me that I’m unattractive.”

He had requirements for some of his guests

While it’s not clear if Combs had requirements for the looks of all attendees, he allegedly had a strict dress code for women. His former party planner wouldn’t let in female guests if they weren’t dressed in accordance with the rules.

“No pants. No jeans. No flat shoes,” she told the New York Post. “Every girl had to wear a party dress, preferably very short, just enough to cover her butt cheeks, but no longer than mid-thigh. Cleavage showing.”

She claimed that Combs wanted to see every woman in stilettos.

“And every single one of them had to be wearing stilettos,” she said. “That one, there was no exception: high stilettos.”

The planner also said that beyond the dress code, Combs had specifications for the way women at his parties looked.

“No flab, no cellulite. Not overly pierced or tattooed. No short hair,” she said. “And the girls had to be young and hot.”

She claimed that they even went so far as to weigh some women before they could enter the party.

Ray-J once said Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs’ case was not the public’s business

Ray-J said he long viewed Combs as an inspiration in the entertainment industry. He felt dismayed by the highly publicized trial, even though he didn’t approve of some of his actions.

“The Diddy s***, it haunts me, because it’s like … now we know what this dude, and now we’re in his private business,” in a clip posted to The Shade Room. “… Diddy didn’t teach us how to have freak-offs, you know? He didn’t teach us that. He taught us other things in business and how to be. And how to represent the culture. Now, he did some weird s***. And it wasn’t OK. At the end of the day, y’all, it’s crazy. Asking people what they’re doing in their private time?”

He believed that Combs’ private life was his own business.
