Researchers at ETH Zurich have successfully created a heavier Schrödinger cat, weighing 16 micrograms, using an oscillating crystal and a superconducting circuit, which can take on the logical states "0" or "1" or a superposition of both states. The results of this experiment could help researchers better understand why quantum superpositions are not observed in everyday life and lead to more robust quantum bits.
